I’ve watched the sunrise a million times
Through half-lidded eyes
That have seen too much by now
And the world has left me
Torn up, beaten, broken and bleeding
I’m fighting a never ending war
I’ve worn confidence like a bulletproof vest

I’m bracing for the end, worn out and weary
Yet I ponder the sole purpose
