Days Like This

Ryan Harkrider

A january storm came in late, late last night
I watched the clouds blow in from the west and I watched them blow on by
It got cold and turned the rain to snow and the feeling's just the same
But the wind that blows between the trees always knows my name

And it's days like this that leave me in the cold
It's days like this that leave me feeling old
It's days like this that chill my bones walking home at night
And it's days like this that make me feel that I am doing alright

It was cold and wet when I woke up and felt life on my feet
So, I took a walk down twenty fifth to a friend's house down the street
My feet made sound against the broken ground and I'm always in a hurry
But the leaves that sleep on my front porch would tell a different story

And it's days like this that leave me in the cold
It's days like this that leave me feeling old
It's days like this that chill my bones walking home at night
And it's days like this that make me feel that I am doing alright

Oh, I'm alright
Oh, I'm alright
Oh, I'm alright
Oh, I'm alright guess I'm doing alright

Maybe I should leave this town, maybe I should go
Maybe I should hit the road out there on my own
'Cause it's days like this that make me want to throw it all away
And it's days like this that make me feel that I am doing okay

Oh, I'm okay
Oh, I'm okay
Oh, I'm okay
Oh, I'm okay guess I'm doing okay
