The Castaways

Revelance

Down along the thoughtful grass,
As the twinkle of a star,
Like a bitter glow of steps,
And a creak of remembrance,
Anguish came and bore a cake:
Such a raw a gift, newly chosen...

And a child so young and fragile,
Clean and whole hearted,
Went into the street...

And a child so young and fragile,
Clean and whole hearted,
Cried into the dark...

And in his big round eyes,
Clean and whole hearted,
Cuddled itself pain..

And in his light, little clothes,
Clean and whole hearted,
Penetrated frost...

In the middle of the street,
For ever alone,
As his last enduring hope,
Hugged the teddy-bear...

And a child so young and fragile,
Clean and whole hearted
Went on to the street...

And a child so young and fragile,
Clean and whole hearted
Cried into the night...

And in his big round eyes,
Clean and whole hearted
Cuddled pain..

And in his light, little clothes
Clean and whole hearted
Penetrated frost...

Cry, my child, undisturbedly,
Don't wait for your mother now,
You'll be brought up by rancour,
You'll be cared for by anguish!
