Distant Land

the sunset sky fills my eyes
green mystery in the stars
reflecting lights show a land
dark and strange at water's edge 

what have i found on this shore
a distant land far beyond
a sound of sighs fills the air
caressing me with a velvet sound 

a thousand lights fill the sky
a silver band across my eyes
the dancing waves stir the sand
they're pulling me to that distant land
