Ostura

Erosion

Ostura

Where is the rust?
Peeling from inside the skin
Come scent my breath
Stain me, let me rid my flesh
Rust is real
Yet still concealed

From the beginning
I didn’t question how the water flows
Slowly I learnt that it glides my way

Faster than a virus
Scraping beneath you
I'm not the cause, it's beyond me

You whisper among them
A rebellion
You have designed
Will you remember this when we drown?

Rain falls, pouring from the night sky
Drops that puncture my heart
The rusting stones now come to be
Erosion, she can't see
Words are failing once they're spoken
All must stay in motion
Waking every mind to question
Who's in control?

Abandoned they walk here
Isolated, dehumanized
They're silent, raging inside

Infested with corruption
Strangers to their God
A handful of time for eruption

No room for silence
Not for judgment
The seed is sown
Everything built now is falling down!

Rain falls, pouring from the night sky
Drops that puncture my heart
The rusting stones now come to be
Erosion, she can't see
Words are failing once they're spoken
All must stay in motion
Waking every mind to question

Locked for another
Day in a spiral
Deep in the earth
We strive for survival

On my knees
My voice calls her name, but ignored
Scares me
The thought of the downfall
Silent tears
Of fear, that reminds her of home
Of dreams, that are brought to flames

I am the rust
Peeling from inside her skin
