Opus Doria

Enigma

Opus Doria

With all sails set the vessel heels and stands away
A voyage is beginning and I do not know the end
To where the winds will lead us and to whom I cannot say
I am borne towards tomorrow on the whirlwind of today

Where must I go, and what will become of me?
Our course seems set in Heaven!
Yet I below am pitching on the heaving of the waves
All my questions are in vain; I am hoping to be saved

The clouds drive over the sea, and the vessel heaves and rolls
My compasses are flickering far from land
What devils pass we over? We cannot pay their tolls
The wheel is flashing round, and I dare not set my hand

Where must I go, and what will become of me?
Our course seems set in Heaven!
Yet I below am pitching on the heaving of the waves
All my questions are in vain; I am hoping to be saved

O immense World
O boundless Ocean
What hope is there for me
Alone upon the Sea?

Where must I go, and what will become of me?
Our course seems set in Heaven!
Yet I below am pitching on the heaving of the waves
All my questions are in vain; I am hoping to be saved
