Disdained

Disdained

I light a single candle, for each time my soul has died
I play a single note, and wait for it to fade
Even if I write, tunes of sorrow and pain
My tunes have never betrayed me, they never would

I have seen, what I can be
I need to change
To gain, what I always deserved

Reach out for me, I have never been this free
No more chains that hold me, nailed back to the ground
See who I am, I am strong once again
No more pain and sorrow, I'm leaving that behind

I see you on the other side, always so hard to reach
We're stranger to each other, when you disappear
You close the world around you, no matter who is near
It's hard to be so lonely, and left in despair

Now I've written the last pages; this book can be closed
My last words will stay there for ages
Never to unfold, never to unfold
