When the Eagle Flies

All the best laid plans of mice and men
Sometimes work against you in the end
Somewhere further around the bend
To your stunned surprise
You finally understand 
Every mouse and every man
Has to look up in the sky where the eagle flies

While I was searching for the promised land
Hoping that my ship would come in as planned  
I was building castles in the sand
To my stunned surprise
Turns out the price I pay
Seems to get bigger everyday
And I still look in the sky when the eagle flies
