Seize the Day

Petula Clark

How many times do you ask yourself
"What can I do to bring about a change?"
It's too hard a task yourself
The world's too large to rearrange
But if each one played a part, the greater heart
Would rise up and take wing, and accomplish
most anything

Seize the day, life is made of precious moments
Don't delay and waste the chance each one of us is given
If you stray, remember you can always be redriven
Seize the day, for time is slipping away

How many times do you tell yourself
That you can make a difference if you try
Only to sell yourself
An inexpensive alibi
It's easy to equivocate, procrastinate
And never take a stand, while the problems
grow out of hand0.

Seize the day, life is made of precious moments
Don't delay and waste the chance each one of us is given
If you stray, remember you can always be redriven
Seize the day, for time is slipping...
Away so fast Open your eyes and a year has passed
And in that year what have you done?
The war is waiting to be won but

How many times do you hide yourself
And fail to help another soul to live?
If only you'd pride yourself
In the power of the positive
It's common just to be confined in the daily grind
Forgetting that a dream may be closer than it may seem

Seize the day, life is made of precious moments
Don't delay and waste the chance each one of us is given
If you stray, remember you can always be redriven
Seize the day, seize the day, for time is slipping away

Let us pray each one of us sees the day
When lives won't slip away
