Outside

Chris Thompson

My mother is the moon, my father is the sun
It´s hard to say where I belong
Between such brilliant lights as these
You fight for your identity
You´re filled with every shade of doubt
You try in vain to work it out
How can it be so hard to see
That love is all you really need

I´m outside - where do I begin
To find where I belong, find where I fit in
Outside - where I am
Everybody talks, and no one understands
Outside - you can tell me everything is just fine
But I´m having such a lousy time
I wanna really feel worthwhile cause I am
I´m on the outside
I´m on the outside

It´s not so hard to understand
The child is different from the man
Before he loves somebody else
He needs to learn to love himself

I´m outside - where do I begin
To find where I belong, find where I fit in
Outside - where I am
Everybody talks, and no one understands
Outside - you can tell me everything is just fine
But I´m having such a lousy time
I wanna really feel worthwhile cause I am
I´m on the outside
I´m on the outside
I´m outside
