Chasing Claymores

A World Worth Fighting For

Chasing Claymores

We’re a heartbeat away from the last breathe that we take
Paralyzed from baring witness to these sights and sounds
Somebody call the police outlined and we’re lined in chalk and on the street
No calvary is on their way to come save us now
It’s so far away from here a world worth fighting for
When all is lost and gone what will we leave?
To reconcile the damage done
The damage done
Suddenly everything’s changed caused this panic and decay
Politicians, skeptics, scholars finally realize
Sons make their way home from war,
Shot up and bleeding on the floor
When will we get tired of sending all the poor to fight?
It’s so far away from here a world worth fighting for
When all is lost and gone what will we leave?
To reconcile the damage done
The damage done
The eye of the storm, will we except fate?
We see our lives bleed for recognizable change.
Our stomachs kept full from this table they’ve set
Force fed a barrage of countless lies we digest
Our children rely on choices we make
Look at the world what have we done?
What have we saved?
What kind of place have we made?
What kind of place have we made?
It’s so far away from here a world worth fighting for
When all is lost and gone what will we leave?
To reconcile the damage done
The damage done
