Darklit Skies

Causemos

And suddenly you awaken in a strange place
Who are you now, who were you before?
As you stop falling to sleep
You'll realise there's only night in your world
Who are you no more?

You recall the hues of sunlight
And the brightness of a day
But you don't notice its absence
As the dark morning turns to a gloomy day
You can't tell when it has become an ordinary night

You see the city change
Familiar people become different inside
Who are they now, who were they before?
Your memories are not your own
And your life belonged to someone else
A total loss of memories

I take the first step onwards
What horrors might I possess inside my head?
But all I see is silence
A numbing feeling that I haven't seen
What I'm not supposed to see.

A strange feeling that I was not born
Before I started to die
For birth is only a beginning
Of a long, cruel death

Destiny failed to give me life
It gave me someone's death instead
Misled race dreaming in reality... A reverie

We live in illusion
Chained to our spiral world

Trying to remember who I'm supposed to be
But haven't been yet
The loss of memories has turned
To an implanted truth

The same body I now possess
Yesterday maybe served someone else
A mortal coil with an altered soul
Sleeps through change

The sun fades out, introducing the night
Let in the darkness, brilliant as light
The something within us awakes

I took the last step onwards
The horrors that came out shattered the earth
Now there is all, but silence
Now I am the man who I was not supposed to be

The darklit skies gained light once again
But the darkness shall not ever end... never end...
