Twilight Hymn of Ancient Blood

BlackBraid

Moss creeps forth
Ancient bones moan
Death creeps in
The marsh weeps in silent song

Death comes singing
A softly blowing wind
Soul relieved from body
My spirit sheds its skin

Flesh formed a new
Amidst the dreary pines
An offering to the earth
Creeping death divine

The decaying bones of earth
Sigh a fragile breath
The rotted flesh of memory
Renewal wrought in cosmic death

Where twilight roams I'll make my grave
Bound in death by the blood of the stag
Bathed in ancient feral rays
As moonlight seeps from opened veins

Dying spell of ancient blood
Awakened from the rotting dust
The forest weeps beneath my flesh
As my spirit sheds its skin

The decaying jaws of earth
Wrapped around my flesh
On warm wind rides
My final dying breath

Where twilight roams
I'll make my grave
Forever bound by the blood of the stag
