Our story starts in '44
It was during the war when the sky was grey
And bombs were falling

There was a woman there
She had paint on her hand
And she carried a canvas bare
To tell a story of a boy who walked alone
And never needed anyone

She said, "boy, let me show you how to love
Let me show you how to paint
Your life beautiful
Don't let the sunshine fade to black and white
Open your eyes, beautiful
To a world so bright"
How could i
Live my life colorblind

Many years went by
The boy grew older and he tried
To keep her words alive

Graduation came
His oldest son didn't seem the same
The world was gonna take him away

"there are so many roads
Dad what does my future hold?"
And he grabbed his son and said,
"let me tell you of a boy who walked alone
And never needed anyone"

He said, "son, let me show you how to love
Let me show you how to paint
Your life beautiful
Don't let the sunshine fade to black and white
Open your eyes, beautiful
To a world so bright"
How could i live my life colorblind

His life went on
He fell in love
He got down on his knee and said,

"you paint my life beautiful
You won't let the sunshine fade to black and white
You opened my eyes, beautiful,
To a world so bright
How could i live my life

"you paint my life beautiful
You won't let the sunshine fade to black and white
You opened my eyes, beautiful,
To a world so bright
How could i
Live my life
Without you"
