Awakening To Darkness

I've lived a good long life
My time on earth has ended
On this all hallows' eve
I recount all my deeds

Soon I'll slip away
To eternal peace
My eyes close
I awaken to darkness
There is no pain
Is this the afterlife?

To my horror, I realize I'm in a crypt
Am I to plague the living as the undead?
A voice within begins to speak
