Out Of Rope

so here i am 
once again
still i can't help
but wonder why
i'm coming back 
i fail to see
that what once was
has passed us by

the howling wolf 
the sleepless lamb
am i to blame?
and what's the crime?
i'm pulling in
i'm out of rope
out of line?
or out of hope??
