VerseQuence

Still There

VerseQuence

There's a sudden fall of rain
Does it know there's someone
Waiting right here?
That it chooses to fall
At the moment right when my eyes
Would start shedding tears

Walking down the path and curves, I encountered you
I've always walked behind but can't I stay by your side too?

Why can't I seem
To close the gap
Right in between
The you and I
That's satisfied
With both of our smiles
One whole and one broken

I watch your back as you'll never know
I'm just right here keeping you from hurting as you go
Turn your back and you would see me still there, I'll stay
I'm okay

There's a sudden gleam of light
Does it know there's someone
Longing for a smile?
That it chooses to shine
At the moment right when your eyes
Would stare back at mine

Going down the paths and curves, I begin to run
You become so hard to reach when you're chasing someone

Why can't I seem
To close the gap
Right in between
The you and I
That's satisfied
With both of our smiles
One whole and one broken

I watch your back as you get away
I'll keep on running even if it would take all day
Turn your back and you would see me still there, I'll stay
I'm okay

What will I do?
What will I say?
When you start to give up and you fall down on your way?
Do I keep you?
Do I stop you?
Do I hold your hand and walk the path I want to take?

What do I do? What do I do?

Why can't I seem
To close the gap
Right in between
The you and I
That's satisfied
With both of our smiles
One made due to the other

I'll watch your back and you can just go
From time to time I'll walk by your side and let you know
As long as you are happy, I'll stay
I'll be okay
