Nightfall Seattle

Tody Castillo

Nightfall Seattle
The water made pale by the light
It was a painting we owned in the eighties
That made the room take on that time of night

At the same time, Corpus Christi
The first time a girl caught my eye
Then her dad took a job on the east coast
He moved the family along with my heart

On that day I met sorrow
From a girl I only spoke to maybe twice
And the same with that painting
For turning my days into nights

The age of dirt bikes and metal
When the skateboarders took to the sky
It was the year we split up the family
To create this new way of life

On that day I met sorrow
From a girl I only spoke to maybe twice
And the same with that painting
For turning my days into nights

Here comes love
