my doctor prescribed
so I stopped to drink water
and the mailman arrived
I told him «  this isn't my house »
he already knew, he said
« this message was sent from the past »
the address just says I better give this to you. »

And when I opened it up
oooooooo woo woo woo woo
Such a beautiful thing. And i remembered.

We looked in Mrs. Jalons Purse
in first grade
found a pack of malboro lights
and thought it was Watergate
Scandalous, we would have cried
had our vocabularies not denied us
usage of words we didn't know.
It just goes to show
That We all close our windows before we know
from where the wind blows
and why she wants us to make us cold

And Shirley Temple shivers too
like the pretty pink sequins on her shimmery shoes/

So pour me a boilermaker*, quick as you please
