There once was a wizard who helped neighbor muggles By mixing them potions to cure plight and disease When said wizard died he left his old cauldron to his son- Begged him to spread dad's legacy The very same night came a knock on the door Was an old peasant woman looking far from okay Said granddaughter's warts needed potion for healing But the selfish young wizard sent her away Then the wizard stopped and listened for a minute Was a strange clanging noise coming from the kitchen And he cursed his father as he turned around And saw the magic cauldron hopping on the ground It had sprouted a single foot of brass And had warts all over its bulky mass Couldn't shut it up or curse it away So the cauldron had to stay Hopping cauldron had to stay The wizard was sleepless cuz the cauldron was noisy But next morning at breakfast knocked a man who was poor Said his donkey was missing and he couldn't feed his family But the selfish young wizard just slammed the door Then the wizard stopped and listened for a minute Was a strange braying noise coming from the kitchen And he cursed his father as he turned around As the hopping pot made wretched sounds Were the clangs of the foot and the screams of the donkey And the groans of a family going hungry Couldn't shut it up or curse it away So the cauldron had to stay Hopping cauldron had to stay That night after dinner woman begged for her baby When the wizard got angry, cauldron started to cry And before very long now, it was carrying more ailments But the selfish young wizard turned a blind eye Then the wizard stopped and listened for a minute Were a million noises coming from the kitchen And he cursed his father as he turned around As the hopping pot made wretched sounds Were the clangs of the foot and the screams of the donkey And the groans of a family going hungry The warts kept growing and the tears kept flowing The dogs kept barking and the pot kept choking It spewed sour milk and it sprayed bad cheese It spit a stream of slugs and it barfed some bees Screamed and it cried and it whined and it retched Burned and it turned and it spilled, overflowed And it goes and it goes and it hopped and it hopped And it hopped and it hopped and it hopped and it hopped and it hopped (breakdown) I'll cure you of sickness, I'll heal you of hunger Just make this pot shut up, I beg, I implore When good deeds were done gave the brass foot a slipper And the hopping pot's hopping was noisy no more, no more And the selfish young wizard was selfish no more
