Land Of Amok

Robin Borneman

I walked a road of seven miles
Out where the moonlight never sleeps
I saw a dying wooden horse
It was shot and it was bleeding
It looked at me with wounded eyes
Then I swear I saw it crying
And I came to understand
A cold and blackened heart was beating in these lands

I saw my childhood falling from the stairs
I thought I heard my mother's voice
Although I knew she wasn't there
I couldn't find a single star here
To guide me through the dark
That was covering me still
For every star would lead me to a tree upon the hill

Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho
I've come to die

I saw the angel's shattered crown
The heaven change into a storm
It broke my heart to see them drowning
In the sky where they were born
I then kneeled before the king
I hung my head and started singing songs
In favor of His name
I then crawled upon that hill to hang myself in bitter shame

Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho
I've come to die

I'll put your courage to the test
I'll make it rain for seven days
Oh and maybe it'll crumble
But at least you'll feel the pain
There's no sinner in your heart
No misfortune in the cards
No mud in your well
A tree born crooked only grows around the gates of hell

Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho

Come back to life
