Ordinary Peoples

One More Day

Ordinary Peoples

He lived for the minute, never stressin'
Learned through experience, had no care for a lesson
Livin life to the fullest, always down for whatever
Always had my back, quick to smack a halfstepper,
On the double, known to cause trouble in the street
a true friend he was, kept us all on our feet
he kicked a beat on a trash can while I freestyled, late night,
drunk in college park, it was so tight
Remember, playing drinkin' games,
Till the sun came up, and we'd never hesitate,
always finished the cup
I wish we could chill one more time,
Lunch and kick another rhyme,
drink a six pack and have it be fine
but all good things have to come to an end
and I just want to say that I miss you my friend
and as the time goes by, i think of what i would say
sittin' here wishin' that we had one more day

just give me one more day, all I want is one more day
a chance to try and relay, a message I never got to say

I still can't believe that you're gone,
now I'm wishin
we could have one more day,
to just kick it
ride around town,
with the top down ,
we were misfits on a mission,
but your sittin on the sun now
and I'm just remiscin'
bout the times that we had
I could probably write a book
if I had a pen and pad
I aint mad at ya, just mad at the fact, that,
You aint here,
with a skateboard and a backpack
and as that thought passes,
your alive in my mind
still I'm wishin I could see you ,
and chill one more time
yeah, I know we'll roll again in the end
and raise hell
but til then I'm pouring liquor
down the wishing well

just give me one more day, all I want is one more day
a chance to try and relay, a message I never got to say

I still miss you and wish you were here
Though I know that you're near, I wish you would just appear
I see reflections in your tears and remember the years
I remember the times, I pour my heart into these rhymes
I got all these memories and I'll never let em' go
I can see you in the front row, jumping at a show
But I can keep going knowing that your free
And I know you're somewhere looking down on me

just give me one more day, all I want is one more day
a chance to try and relay, a message I never got to say
