Sorry Mister

Nguru

Here I'm walking through the streets and alleys of my hometown
where I have lived for years
I should really know all corners and all the shops, but today the people are like a swarm of bees.

Something obscures my sight
Sit down in a restaurant
A Chinese tourist asks me "I want
To know the way to the famous martins place"
But I don't know where it is, I tell him:
"Sorry Mister, I am a stranger too"

Once upon a time we thought about the future in our life. We were as close together,
....together as bride and groom
Now you left me here standing in the haze, left linking me around in this dark room.

Enough to drive me mad
Pass by a political stall
And the guys there are against it all.
Against strangers, people who can't work"
Please join our party!!" but I say
"Sorry Mister, I am a stranger too"

The sadness in my brain
I guess I wait in vain
For time with plans, thoughts and dreams
But now I am a stranger
