Mother Hips

Two Young Queens

Mother Hips

Stepped up on my roof and I was feeling so much stronger
They can't wait for me any longer
'Cause they are freezing cold and you know that they're not that old
The freezing steel will shake you when you lay up on the van,
two young queens by the trees of Norway.
They step back inside and I keep looking at the night.

Beside me, two young queens.
I don't lie, I say what I mean
and I say they were two young queens.
Stepped up on my roof and I was feeling so much stronger,
two nightbirds by the banks of a river
One screams low in pain and the other just remains.
