and three years later gathered political figures
in the First Paneuropean Congress
From thereon a development had begun
leading straight to the european union
The future of the EU seemed so bright
and every prognosis was considered right
Today we have to face the fact
that all those foretellings were not correct

when the poverty of all our eastern neighbours
in germany also will be seen
