I've been around the world a couple of time or maybe more
I've seen the sights, I've had delights on very foreing shore
But when my mates all ask me the place yhat adore
I tell them tight away...
Give me a home among the gumtrees
With lots of plum trees
A sheep of two and a kangaroo
A clothes line out the back
A verandah out the front
And an old rocking cjair
You can see me in the kitchen cooking up a roast
Or Vegemite on toast, just you and me and a cup of tea
And later on we'll settle down and mull up on the porch
And watch the possums play
There's a Safeway on the corner, a Woolworths downthe street
A New World's just been openedwhere they regulate the heat
But I'd trade them all tomorrow for a simple bush retreat
Where the Kookaburras call...
Some people like their houses with fences all around
Others live in mansions, and some beneath the ground
Me, I love the bush you know with rabbits running 'round
And a pumpkin vine out the back
Eu fui em torno do mundo um par do tempo
Ou talvez mais que eu vi as vistas,
Estavam alegres
Mas quando todos me pedem o lugar
Eu digo-lhes firmemente afastado…
Dê- me um repouso
Com lotes de árvores de ameixa
Um carneiro de dois e um canguru
Uma linha da roupa para fora a parte traseira
Um "verandah" para fora a parte dianteira
E um "cjair" balançando velho
Você pode ver-me na cozinha
Ou "Vegemite" no brinde,
Apenas você e eu e um copo de chá
E mais tarde nós nos estabelecemos para baixo
E acima no porch e prestar atenção
Há um "Safeway" no canto,
A rua do downthe de Woolworths justo de um mundo novo Estado um openedwhere que regulam o calor
Mas eu negociaria toda amanhã para um recuo simples do arbusto onde a chamada de Kookaburras…
Alguns povos gostam de suas casas com cercas toda ao redor Outros vivem nos mansions,
E em algum abaixo da terra
Eu amo o arbusto que você sabe com os coelhos que funcionam 'redondo e uma videira da abóbora
