Until You Love Them (Interlude)

K'LA

You don't truly see a person until you love them
I mean, I wish I had seen you
I wish I had loved you before I hurt you
I wish time would have been more fair to us
I wish love didn't take so long to appear to us
Become so clear to us, but in my heart, I feel
You deserve to be loved like only I can love you

Seen like only I can see you
Taught like only I can teach you
Hurt like only I can hurt so that you so that
You can be healed like only I can heal you.
I feel you, I still do
I'd kill to undo some of what has been
Done but some battles have
To be lost in order for the war to be won

I was a bitter woman when I met you & a better wife when I left you
How bittersweet it would be for another man
To be awarded with a better me.
The me you made. The me you'd trade
And give away to rid yourself of the me I used to be
But should you ever doubt what you mean to me,
Just know I credit you with creating me

The me I am.
Therefore, in my heart, I'm yours.
But some men create to keep
Some men are creation lovers
Some men are simply suppliers
Some create to sell to others
And it's funny

But the same mistakes
We grow from we wish we hadn't done
Yea, bittersweet indeed
But now that I can truly see you
You're much too far to reach
Still, if you see someone

Some other man's creation
Who should come to you more
Whole than I did and you should want them
Just remember
You don't truly see a person until you love them
