Million Miles Of War (feat. Man-u-iLL)

Kinetics

I saw one million miles of war
I saw a million miles of war
So I know I saw this place before
I saw one million miles of war
Cause the real war is not fought on land
The real war is fought inside the man

Man-u-iLL:
We used to be a happy family, 'till the day tragedy came
Things haven't been the same since my daddy was slain
Mommy lost her job, couldn't pay the bills
Now we forced to starve cause she couldn't pay for meals
Livin' on the street, sleepin' in the car
All the money that we do get, she keep it in her bra
I'm speakin' to the stars, lookin' to the sky
Thinkin' to myself, "Why my daddy had to die?"
I'm only 13, forced to be a man
Forget playin' in the park, life's forcin' me to scam
Full of hunger and it's hard, too young to get a job
At night I can't sleep, I'm up wonderin' to God
See, we fall asleep hungry, we wakin' up starvin'
So he should understand why I'm takin' up robbin'
I tell mommy not worry, week to week, day to night
Everything went so wrong but I will die to make it right

Kinetics:
Just the average life, with a beautiful wife and a son
But I hadn't seen my family since 1941
When I grabbed a gun, even though I shun violence normally
My country needed me to storm Normandy
And when I was servin' I was fightin' Germans as a brave soldier
Until the day I caught a lethal strain of pneumonia
Nurse said it was over, so in the hospital I grabbed a pen
And wrote my family to say I wasn't comin' home again
But then, I somehow recovered and left the hospital
And hopped the next flight to the Bronx as soon as possible
But when I got to my apartment what I saw was sickenin'
A notice sayin' that the last tenants were evicted
I ran to the neighbors door and started bangin' it up
Standin' in front of him demandin' where my family was
But all he did was stare back, and gasp with wide eyes
Like, "Everybody was positive you had died
Your family went broke when you left for the war
Cause you weren't there to take care of them anymore
And since then, see, a lot has changed, a lot is new
The last I heard your son was robbin' dudes and your wife had became a prostitute."

Man-u-iLL:
Another day gone, night pass and I'm feelin' like trash
Me and mom got love but ain't nothin' like cash
I'm plottin' on the hustlers anywhere they might stash
Find myself a gun, no question I might blast
Still a little kid though I'm grown' through life fast
It's a war day to day, how long will the fight last?
Just then a light flashed, loud sound, pipe blasts
Standin' outside my body, my life passed
And all I can think about is me and my moms
And my dad as I come to see me in his arms

Kinetics:
So I scoured New York City in the rain
My child was in trouble and I was the one to blame
For days and nights, I would follow word in the streets
To hit up all the common spots where the burglaries be
And then I saw him, ran through the crowd to where the commotion was
A dead body on the sidewalk, soaked in blood
Undeniable, cryin' until my eyes were full
Your seed dying is easily recognizable
I felt his dead body crumple in my arms
Flashbacks of landmines, prison camps and bombs
I've seen death, I've seen pain, blood and despair
But I never thought the killing would follow me over here
I never thought I'd witness the slaughtering of a child
I guess war spans across a million miles
