Theres Lots I Could Have Told Her

Kate Wolf

Tom: C

   C F C
It snowed along the ridge top this morning
C F C
When I woke everything was still
C F
Snow covered all the treetops leaving little snowdrops
G C
All up and down the windowsill

  C F C
I turned to stare at the ceiling
C F C
Leaving my bed would take awhile
    C F
The stove and the chimney, the coffee pot stood empty
G C
No one here to wake me with a smile

F C
Seems like every morning's just the same
F G
And you know I can't complain
F G C F
Now it's getting colder, there's lots I could have told her
C G C
Enough to maybe bring her back again

C F C
Looks like the sun's trying to break through
C F C
May as well get up and make a fire
C F
Woodpile stacked up high, got some dandelion wine
G C
I'll go out walking when the sun gets higher

F C
Seems like every morning's just the same
F G
And you know I can't complain
F G C F
Now it's getting colder, there's lots I could have told her
C G C
Enough to maybe bring her back again
