Wheter Permitting

Jim Gaven

September is not the month where I pick up from where I left and fall with the leaves again this time it's different since I met you Jen July is my favorite month this one reminds me of the first time I fell in love and August was way too long the summer's gone but
Missing you and finding me seems out of your heart's reach as the autumn sky lights up with lies connecting you with honesty your maiden name and everything this winter spring will show its eyes
October begins the change of seasons and feelings but my heart stays (feels) the same it's not so much different when I start thinking as my finger rests on the pen I'm figuring lines that don't rhyme or make sense and now it's semester's end and December's spent
There's so much I've left behind the pages you'll never find will lead someone to conceive the notions and ocean's breeze will blow us away in storm the cold water's turning warm your body is weakening this slack leads to broken wings of angels whom never sinned we ask ourselves wondering why he permits us to face the fact that she might not be coming back but I've convinced myself to believe that no one will ever leave and here lies some hollow ground and I swear (I'm not falling down)
