In Love And War

Defiance Is Not Un-american

In Love And War

In a war of human nature,
we'll prove ourselves again;
And although we may fight to the death,
still no one's gonna win.

As an arbitrary ally is sworn in as a friend,
Upon this altar of diplomacy,
the sacrifice is you and me.

In a war of legislation,
the classic dose of fear is
unleashed upon the populace
until the threat is clear.

We gaze and stare accusingly,
and we question every friend;
but in these religious wars,
both sides are condemned.

As I look back,
the past starts to crumble;
As I walk the path of subversion,
torn and humbled, I feel our virtue fading,
worn and tattered.

And as I see our future, I am shattered.
I may not have the answers,
but I still know right from wrong,
If what we want is peace,
War cannot belong.

We represent the voice of opposition.
