Watch The Wind Blow

Ian Parry

I've been drifting, across the plains
Now there doesn't seem to be a home for us here anymore
I've been searching, night and day
But the Bluecoats keep, chasing my people away

Every word they say, they twist in every way
The treaties they break 'cos the whiteman's here to stay
Why can't we be free, together we can be
Living our lives in peace and harmony

Watch the wind blow.... over me,
Watch the wind blow.... blowing on over me

I've been mourning, for far to long
The colour of our skin is no licence for us to be hung
So I ask you, what have we done
To be first to walk the land, it isn't wrong

Listen what I say, you can wipe us all away
But history decrees to no man does the land belong
Why can't we be free, together we can be
Living our lives the way they're meant to be

Watch the wind blow.... over me,
Where can we go.... blowing free
Watch the wind blow
Sailing with the summer breeze

Will we ever know.... let's see which way the wind blows
