Fractured

Dig

Fractured

You build me up, you tear me down
Push me so low, i’m down to the ground that
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Couldn’t put me back together again.

Yet ever so quietly it grows inside,
This longing for what i knew was a lie -
The truth of a thousand words written in code
That dig in my soul like the hole you’ve bestowed.

Seems like yesterday i told you goodbye
I just wanted to say ‘have a nice fucking life,
But this feeling inside, it wont fade it won’t die
And i cant understand why it just wont subside.

Deep within,
I know what could have been
Is much worst than this,
So i dig, and bury the memories.

The roses are red but now they’re all dead,
The taste of your lips still runs through my head,
The hole in the wall the bruises befallen
And all along im waiting, im stalling.

Something inside me cant look away,
The last time ill speak this and whisper your name,
The candles you’ve lit have started to fade,
This journey i walk when i should have waited.
