Bone Cold Night

Ed Rashed

When I was a younger man a good friend told me
Just be careful of how hard you fall for her
When she left I never felt so cold and lonely
Things will never be the same as what they were
Though it's been a long cold winter since she left here
I remember how it was in every way
I can see her eyes and hear the words we said here
I recall it all like it was yesterday

Well she froze me in my tracks
Made me shiver like the time
That I lost my coat and hat
For that long lonesome ride
In a Ford that had no heat
On a Bone Cold Night

I don't know how it can keep on getting colder
Even when the sun is shining hard and bright
Well they say that Spring will always follow Winter
But this chill has wrapped around my heart so tight

It's moved in and will not go
Makes me shiver like the time
That I lost my coat and hat
For that long lonesome ride
In a Ford that had no heat
On a Bone Cold Night

And how can I ever try to love another
With a heart that's frozen solid, yes I swear
It's as though I wake up from the same old nightmare
Just to take that same cold ride out to nowhere

I can't love if all I feel
Is the freezing, like the time
That I lost my coat and hat
For that long lonesome ride
In a Ford that had no heat
On a Bone Cold Night

On a Bone Cold Night
Bone Cold Night
Bone Cold Night
