This Big City

Derailers

This big city seemed like a small town 'til you left me
Now I look for you everywhere, but I can't find a trace
Without you the city's cold and unforgiving
Among millions I feel all alone, lost and out of place

I left with you against my own better judgment,
I wasn't ready to leave my family home
But our little town couldn't hold your big ideas,
And I knew I couldn't hold you on the phone

Well, we fell into mighty wild and fast company,
I trusted your older eyes to see straight
But money and champagne changed your point of view,
by the time I noticed, it was far too late
