Elephants

Cinders

I got a lot of elephants in my room
But I can’t seem to get them to go away
So I say, won’t you stay, keep me company?
'Cause heaven knows that I’m all alone in this

Where do I go from here?
I’m pushing the car that I’m in
And I’m in the driver’s seat
But I don’t need no sympathy from you, you see
'Cause I believe that you and me
Do everything together in loneliness
But I guess it always has been that way

Some say we don’t know where we’re going
Some say we don’t know where we began
But I say, it can get better and better
If we stand together

Where do I go from here?
All these people standing around me
They’re all staring right down at their feet
Searching for a feeling with no success
We’ve got embers in our burnt out chests
Together in loneliness
