Hi son

Chris Porro

Just like I learned those lessons in childhood
Same way I know I'm untouched and unharmed
Sleep like a looser and think like an arson
Don't hate my father the phone rings its "hi son"

Tonka trucks in the back yard are rusted forgotten
The apple trees fruit has all fallen and rotten
The grass has gone un-mowed and each blade is crazy
Its over and done still my dreams don't obey me

I'm sorry I fucked up. can I have a pardon?
We'll hug first play catch up, we'll work on the garden
And I'll forgive you like I forgive strangers
The people I don't know just forward my anger
To lovers and partners, family residuals
Children I will or won't have what do kids know (X3)

Just like I learned those lessons in childhood
Same way I know I'm untouched and unharmed
Sleep like a looser and think like an arson
Don't hate my father the phone rings its "hi son"

The neighborhoods gone and the sidewalks been torn out
By orange caterpillars and big smoking dump trucks
My old school renamed and the my teachers retired
To throwing my failed report cards in the fire
