The Giant

Chas Bruns

And as I crept up slowly, the candles flickered.
And I watched the giant sleep, with one eye open.
But he never noticed me, as I moved through the shadows.
Come to steal away his wine...what a good day to die!

What a good day.
What a beautiful day.
What a good day to die.

My belly full of meats and wine, I reached in his pocket.
To steal his most precious, rubies and diamonds.
But he never woke to see, the thief in his castle.
And as I jumped from off his knee I thought...what a good day to die!

What a good day.
What a beautiful day.
What a good day to die.

Pleased as any man would be, I left for the window.
And only then I heard her weeping, face down in a pillow.
Locked away up in a cage, the beast he had kept her.
So I had to save the day...what a good day to die!

What a good day.
What a beautiful day.
What a good day to die.

I left my home, find a life better then before...home...home.
I've come to find, I miss it more and more...home...home.

The beast had woken!
How dare you steal my wife and drink my wine?
Where are my rubies and diamonds?
I'm gonna teach you a lesson or two...yeah, yeah, yeah.

Well I left that girl behind, she didn't mean to much to me.
And then I headed for the door, hoping he would not see.
Then his foot came crashing down...on me.

What a good day to die...oh yeah...a good day to die.
What a good day to die.
