Reporter Of Foreign Wars

Charles David Sharp

In a strange and distant place
About a million miles away
Came the sound of gunfire ringing in my ears
Although I was so near
I'm glad that it's not here
I have pity on the people who have to live in this way
I see everything, I bear witness to it all
Just a reporter of foreign wars, reporter or foreign wars
In the southern hemisphere
Where all the people live in fear
I saw blood-shed, hunger, and men who hae no ears
And it's such a mystery
While we're looking for the key
There's crazy folks fighting for nothing all these years
I have pity on the people who have to live in this way
I see everything, I bear witness to it all
Just a reporter of foreign wars, reporter of foreign wars
So I sit back in my chair
So as just to clear the air
It's my job to tell it right just like I see
I have pity on the people who have to live in this way
I see everything, I bear witness to it all
Just a reporter of foreign wars, reporter of foreign wars
