Calico Jack

At the state park I look out at the buffalo through the chain fence and my heart says I want to go back to the place that I was at a year ago
Back to a time when I held you in my arms
One more estrangement and Ill simply fade away to a dark part of your mind and youll hear me say that I am sorry from somewhere so far away
Merely an echo
A memory at all
Maybe Ill be in my home across the sea from you
Ill go to bed after dark and Ill wake with the dawn thinking of you
And maybe someday you will find my record and then for a moment well be back together the same way I feel when I read your old letters (you threw mine away to try and avoid that feeling of emptiness that so annoyed your pastel pink sentiments, losing that innocence, knowing that I spent so much time crying for you).
