He woke up from within the sea
he had a date with destiny
his heart was strong
his head was weak
filled with hope from memories
i relate so much to him
his heart and soul and suffering
by my accounts twas the day
september third she ran away
called the coach and filled her bags
with useless words and dirty rags
she ran up to the beach and said
I'm here my love and wondered if
he'd break from between the waves
and to the depths they will sing

on that beach she waits and waits
the weeks go by anticipates
his smiling face and warm embrace
her heart so chaffed it confiscates
all measure of a happy thought
all tears she shed all fights she fought
on that day a soldier came
explained it wont be the same
as she fell into his arms
she already felt the scars
lost everything she's ever been
her lover still but first her friend
and she sang

One more look from on that beach
she sees his face between the breaches
of the waves he's smiling
he tells her it will be okay
"I'm with you now forever more
our love stronger than ere before"
the objects that fell from the sky
resembled which fell from her eyes
into the stars she would gaze
remembering the better days
they'd sit together on the pier
their skin would touch their hearts so near
and they would sing
