Atlas Losing Grip

The Curse

Atlas Losing Grip

I do what I can
Not to follow any footsteps of my old man
But everything I try leads me back to square one again
Predestined and set in stone, I'm like him to the bone
And it scares me to see the resemblance between us, him and me
It's a vice of which I need to be free
But it seems to be written, predestined and set stone
I try to escape but wherever I go

It follows me
The curse runs in the family
No matter how far I run
I still am my father's son
I am my father's son

And the reflection in the mirror stares back at me with his eyes
And has to say please don't let it get you
Passed on from one generation to the next
Like poison our blood as if we were all hexed
Those left in heaven should be all the same that I see now
Clutched into this generation of frustration
Knowing I have to do what must be done
To stop the curse from being passed on
To stop the curse, the curse, the curse
The curse, the curse

It follows me
The curse runs in the family
No matter how far I run
I still am my father's son

It's with me
The curse of our family
I will not pass this on
To my daughter and my son

Let me be the last one to carry the curse
Let me be the last one to carry the curse
Let me be the last one
(Let me be the last one)
